You feel unprepared for a potential caregiving crisis.
Trying to understand long-term care feels like learning a different language.
It’s hard to find someone who will answer your questions and explain things to you in a way that makes sense.
As a caregiver, you’re mentally, emotionally, and (often) financially exhausted. You just want someone you trust to guide you through the complexities of long-term care insurance and long-term caregiving.
You don’t want to be sold to or treated like a number.

Founder of LTCCINC, Linda Tsironis Caruthers, is currently the only long-term care specialist physically located in Virginia since 2000. She and her team are deeply committed to answering your questions, clarifying the process, and making your experience as smooth as possible, so you can protect your loved ones.

Advising is key. It’s not just about insurance, but real life. What happens when you bring Mom home from the hospital? You need answers, and we’ve got them. We bring the human element to long-term care insurance.

We’re different because we provide ongoing support and education, not just insurance policies. We have relationships with our clients that last for many years, often decades.

We work as interpreters of complex long-term care systems, paperwork, and language, turning them into clear action plans that make sense for your situation.

Meet Linda Tsironis Caruthers

Linda understands long-term care planning at its most personal level. Her experience began as a child, caring for her mother, who became disabled when Linda was ten years old. This immense responsibility shaped her perspective, revealing the emotional and practical challenges people face when life throws the unexpected their way. Linda knows firsthand how overwhelming and isolating this process can feel—and how crucial it is to have the right support and information before a crisis occurs.

As the founder of Long-Term Care Consultants, Linda has built her life’s work around helping adult informal caregivers of aging loved ones find the answers they’ve desperately been searching for. Clients often come to her feeling lost and anxious, not knowing where to turn or whom to trust. Linda and her team listen carefully, answer questions with clarity, and offer guidance grounded in decades of expertise. Frequently Asked Questions

Your Guide to Understanding Long-Term Care:
I’m still young. I don’t need long-term care yet. I’ll deal with that when I’m older.
K
L
Long-term care is not just for people ready for retirement, it’s for all ages. It’s not nursing home insurance, but a lot of people call it that and assume it is. It’s not a place, it’s an event. It’s an incident.
I’m healthy now. Why would I need long-term care insurance?
K
L
Long-term care insurance acts as a safety net, preserving your independence and protecting your savings if you ever need support at home or in a care facility. Planning now, while you’re healthy, helps secure better options and ensures you’re prepared, so your family isn’t left scrambling in a crisis.
Won’t Medicare or my health insurance cover these costs?
K
L
Many people are not aware of this, but Medicare and standard health insurance rarely pay for the long-term personal care most people eventually need. They may cover short-term medical care after a hospital stay, but ongoing help with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, or meal preparation, often falls outside their coverage.

Long-term care insurance fills this gap, giving you the security and peace of mind of the right care when you need it, without jeopardizing your financial goals.

I’m worried about the cost of insurance and whether I’ll actually use it.

People often think of long-term care as an optional expense, but here’s the truth:

It's also extremely costly (physically, emotionally, and financially costly) to your loved ones not to plan for long-term care expenses during your lifetime, not just during retirement years. Planning for care is not about you, it's about the people around you who have to fit your care into their already-busy lives.

Long-term care insurance is an investment in both your comfort and your legacy. The cost of long-term care continues to rise each year, which can quickly deplete even a well-planned nest egg. By planning ahead, you create more choices for the kind of care you want, and you protect your assets for loved ones.

There are flexible policy options to fit a variety of budgets, and working with an experienced specialist means you’ll find a solution that supports your financial situation and your values.
